Texas, The state of Texas is considered to have some of the nation's most lenient gun laws. Public concerns over gun control in Texas have increased in recent years as Mexican drug cartels continue to commit violent crimes near the Texas border with Mexico. Texas Concealed Carry Gun Store

There are many in Texas that are pushing for even more lenient gun control as they feel that Texas citizens need to protect themselves as they have lost faith in the government in being able to provide even the basic protection as a result of the Mexican cartel’s recent incursions into US territory and have committed violent crimes on U.S. soil including murder.

In response to recent shooting in the country gun control proponents has set their sight on states such as Texas thinking that gun control is the answer. Texans have no intention or bowing to such unfounded pressure and Texas politician have had the courage to openly support firearms. In a recent quote: “Yet here in Texas, which has a long-cherished history of independence and an unshakeable pro-gun culture, talk of limits on weapons is met with resolute defiance"

Republican Gov. Rick Perry said that the effort by the "political left" and news media to exploit the Connecticut massacre to push for gun-control measures "disgusts me." State Rep. Jason Villalba, a Republican from Dallas, has proposed putting an armed "marshal" in every public school. Republican state Rep. Steve Toth, who represents an area north of Houston, has vowed to make it a felony to enforce federal gun bans within Texas' borders.

Two Texas school districts have adopted policies allowing teachers and faculty to carry guns on school grounds. Three districts allow guns in schools. Recently, The Texas Legislature adjourned its regular session on Memorial Day after passing fifteen pro-Second Amendment measures. This is more than any other state in the country.

Clearly Texans and their elected officials understand that their proud history of guns going back over 200 years not only assures an individual’s right to self-defense, they seem to be a rare group of citizens in the country that understand the constitution and by their actions and words support the 2nd amendment. The Republic of Texas is a model for other states to follow. Learn about Texas and other Pro gun states on US Precision Defense.

Texas, The Texas state constitution states; Every citizen shall have the right to keep and bear arms in the lawful defense of himself or the State; but the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of arms, with a view to prevent crime.

From the very beginning of Texas statehood Texans have recognized its residents the right keep and bear arms, and to this very day is one of only a handful of states that have never wavered from this belief. In fact Texas is known for being probably the most proactive state in supporting the second amendment, and have had its laws copied by other states.

Recently the federal government has tried with great effort to force gun control measures on the states and Texas has been the single most proactive state in pushing back against the Federal Government and their disregard for the 2nd amendment.

Texas Supports the 2nd AmendmentRecently, as part of what has become dubbed "gun day" by supporters and opponents alike, The Texas House enthusiastically approved a bill, introduced by first-term, Tea Party Republican Rep. Steve Toth, which promises to bring tensions between the federal and state government to the boiling point if cleared.

The bill would shoot down within state borders any federal laws banning assault weapons or high-capacity magazines, or expansion of background checks for firearms owners. "There are 27 amendments in the Constitution but only one says `shall not be infringed,"' Toth said. "The Second Amendment is the amendment that keeps the people free."  The phrase “Don’t mess with Texas” is taking on new meaning.

As a result of The Texas Houses actions the democrats are furious and one Liberal Democratic representative rebutted: Rep. Gene Wu, took to Twitter to slam his Republican colleagues: "In case your head is too thick to understand: State law will not trump federal law." Even with this statement the State of Texas is ignoring the rants of the liberals and is staying the course in its protection of the second amendment, even when the federal government will not.

This one Texan sums it up pretty well how Texans think: US Rep. Steve Stockman, a Republican from Friendswood Texas, sent the following message to "all persecuted gun owners and unwanted manufacturers": Come to Texas!!! The state which believes the whole Bill of Rights should be followed, not just the "politically correct" parts. Your rights will not be infringed upon here, unlike many current local regimes.

Welcome to Texas!
